The Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics within the College of Business and Technology at Winthrop University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Finance with a start date of August 16, 2025. The College offers a BS in Financial Technology (beginning fall 2025), a BS/BA in Finance, and an MBA with a Finance concentration. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to student development, and the ability to publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. The standard teaching load is three courses (9 credit hours) per semester.
Priority will be given to applications received by February 16, 2025. The position will remain open until filled.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited school (ABDs will be considered)
- Candidates with a specialization or interest in Financial Technology are preferred
- Ability to teach in multiple areas (e.g., financial data analytics, investments)
- Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
- Evidence of research potential and willingness to provide service
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in finance and financial technology
- Engage in high-quality research in the field of specialization
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Serve on university and college committees
- Other duties as assigned by the department chair
