The Department of Finance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Lee Business School invites applications for Visiting Assistant Professor and Visiting Lecturer of Finance, for the upcoming academic year, starting in August 2025.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching and preparing students for success in a multicultural business environment. The duties of these positions include:
- Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including our Master of Science in Quantitative Finance (MSQF) program.
- Typical load: four courses per semester.
- Participating in research activities.
- Performing appropriate departmental and college service activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A doctoral degree from an accredited university in related fields is required, but doctoral students who are at an advanced stage of their study, such as ABD, will be considered.
- Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. ABD candidates applying for the Visiting Assistant Professor position are expected to be making strong progress towards completing their PhD.
- Preferred research interests: financial literacy, personal finance, household finance.
- The candidates must be able to work legally in the United States. UNLV will sponsor H1B visa for qualified international candidates.

The Department recently received a significant endowment and established the Kerestesi Center for Insurance and Risk Management. The Department has two student-managed investment funds. Historically, faculty in the department have published in JF, JFE, RFS, AER, JPE, MS, TAR, JFQA, FM, JCF, JBF, and other reputable journals. The research resources include the WRDS platform, CRSP, Compustat, ISS (RiskMetrics), ESG, ExecuComp, FactSet, and an active research seminar series.
The Lee Business School (LEE) is AACSB-accredited and home to approximately 4,000 students, including 500 graduate students and 85 faculty members. LEE offers five master’s degree programs, including a Masters in Quantitative Finance and an Executive MBA, and nine undergraduate degree programs. A Ph.D. program is scheduled to start in Fall 2025.
