Special Issue of the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal
Theme: FinTech and Financial Markets

Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, the School of Applied Finance and Behavioral Science and Modern Risk Society will jointly host the eighth annual China International Risk Forum (CIRF2022) on July 8-10, 2022 in Dalian, China. This conference will be a hybrid one with both on-site and online sessions. We sincerely welcome you to join us in the beautiful coastal city, Dalian, this summer. In case you could not come in person due to the COVID travel restrictions, please join the conference online. The conference submission deadline is April 3rd, 2022.

TOPICS: The goal of the forum is to promote research broadly related to financial risk management in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. As in the previous conferences, the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal dedicates a special issue to papers to be presented at the forum. The special issue has a theme of digital economy. All finance and financial risk management subjects will be considered. Potential research topics include but are not limited to the following:
- FinTech, machine learning, and big data
- Crypto/digital assets: risk and reward
- Asset pricing: capital market efficiency and anomalies
- Corporate finance and governance
- Climate/weather risk and finance
- COVID, catastrophes and rare disasters
- Household finance and risk management
- Credit risk and liquidity
- Leverage and systemic risk measurement
- Interest risk, market risk, exchange rate risk, and operational risk
- Ambiguity and ambiguity aversion
- Behavioral finance and risk management
- Pension risk, health risk, and insurance related topics

Chinese submissions are welcome; there will be Chinese sessions. Papers accepted to the Chinese sessions will be recommended to the Journal of Management Sciences in China. The standard review process of the journal will be followed.

CONFERENCE SUBMISSION: Both completed papers and early drafts with innovative ideas are encouraged. Please submit a pdf file without author information via the link https://editorialexpress.com/cgi-bin/conference/conference.cgi?action=login&db_name=CIRF. The submission deadline is Beijing Time April 3, 2022. There is no submission fee.

SUBMISSION TO PBFJ: The submission to PBFJ special issue is separate from the conference submission and the submission portal will become available on Aug 29, 2022 (tentative). Submission details will be provided shortly after the conference. The Pacific-Basin Finance Journal is a high-quality journal specialized in the publication of academic research on capital markets of the Asia-Pacific countries. Its 5-Year Impact Factor is 2.775. The Journal Citation Reports (JCR) ranks it in the 1st quartile of the finance field.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION: The registration fee for the conference is USD100 for onsite and USD50 for online. The registration fee is waivered for session chairs and discussants who do not have a paper in the program. The conference is also free to students. Presenting authors should register for the conference before June 20, 2021.
