The Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting in the College of Business at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a tenured professor and director (department chair). The appointment will begin Fall 2024.
The director will be a central figure in setting strategy for the Dixon School and will be a member of the Dean’s College Executive Council. The selected candidate will work closely with business and accounting communities (defined broadly to include the AAA and the AICPA) to advance the goals of the Dixon School. Such work will include being actively involved in fundraising to help the Dixon School achieve its goals. Further, the director of the Dixon School will work closely with the school’s program director of the MSA program as well as with the College of Business and its Executive Development Center/Office of Graduate Programs to assess opportunities for, and potentially work in the development of, additional graduate programs.

The Dixon School enjoys a national and international reputation for excellence in accounting research and education. We offer undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. programs in accounting and are among the elite group of accounting programs accredited by the AACSB.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in accounting or closely related field, from an AACSB accredited institution, at the time of application.
- Record of research, teaching, and service in accounting commensurate with a tenured professor rank. Evidence of such a record could be demonstrated by holding the rank of professor at one’s current institution.
- Demonstrated leadership in academic programs, potentially evidenced by currently, or previously, having held a leadership position at one’s current, or a previous, academic institution.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external organizations and stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and/or implement new and/or innovative academic programs.
- Leadership in major academic and/or professional organizations in the accounting discipline.
- Demonstrated fundraising ability and/or evidence of working closely with relevant (likely college or university-level) development/foundation units.
- A record of research publications in accounting (and/or closely related disciplines) using behavioral theory.
