The Department of Accounting & Business Law invites applications for its department chair position starting Fall 2024. Baylor is a Christian research university, and we invite candidates from diverse backgrounds who will help the department train students and develop initiatives that shape the accounting profession in a way that models our Christian faith. The department seeks individuals for the chair position who will guide and develop faculty, administer the undergraduate and graduate academic programs, and coordinate department initiatives with the strategic goals of the university and the Hankamer School of Business’s goals of purposeful scholarship, experiential learning, and Christ-centered diversity and belonging.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: We welcome applicants for the department chair position that demonstrate a commitment to their Christian faith. Applicants should also possess a record of research productivity consistent with R1 institutions, illustrated by a strong and consistent record of publications in high quality accounting journals. In addition, applicants should demonstrate prior teaching excellence and the ability to build upon the communal culture that is a strength of our department. Prior academic leadership experience that shows an ability to work with faculty in developing successful academic programs is expected. The ability to manage external relationships with our corporate partners and alumni will be an important part of the position, so previous professional experience is a valuable though not required qualification.

The position carries a reduced teaching load commensurate with research productivity and carries a rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure.
