The Law School of the University of St.Gallen is seeking candidates for a full, associate or assistant professorship in Law and Technology to take up employment per August 1, 2026, or as agreed upon. The position can be filled as a full professorship with an employment level of 75% or as an associate professorship (tenured) / assistant professorship (tenure track) with an employment level of 75-100%.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: You are an entrepreneurial academic with a strong commitment to collaborative research and interdisciplinary exchange—particularly with colleagues working in Computer Science. In your future role, you will teach in your core legal field at the Law School and offer legal courses tailored to students at the School of Computer Science.
You make a visible contribution to national and international academic discourse in the field of Law and Technology, demonstrated through high-quality publications in renowned journals. In doing so, you actively enhance the visibility and reputation of the Law School in this strategically important area.
You bring along a robust professional network—both nationally and internationally—as well as a history of securing competitive third-party funding and a very good track record in teaching. You are capable of teaching in both English and (at the latest after two years) in German, and you contribute to our programs in continuing education, thereby complementing your academic profile.
To apply for an associate or full professorship, we expect a second monograph (“habilitation”) or equivalent academic qualification as well as a notable track record in teaching. When assessing applications for the assistant professorship, we take academic age into account; the prerequisite is an excellent PhD thesis and some experience in teaching.
The University of St.Gallen is committed to promoting equal opportunities and an inclusive work culture. We explicitly encourage women and members of underrepresented groups to apply.
