The Accounting and Finance Department at Washington and Lee University invites applications for one tenure-track position in Accounting at the rank of assistant or associate professor (without tenure). The area of research specialty is open. We are particularly interested in candidates with teaching interests in accounting information systems and data analytics. The appointment begins July 1, 2026.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position requires a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment and values interdisciplinary approaches to pedagogy. The school calendar consists of two 13-week terms, one in the fall and one in the winter, and a 4-week spring term. The teaching load is 5 courses per year (4 in the first year), and class sizes are purposefully small. Faculty are also expected to have an active research program. To support faculty research agendas, the university has a summer research grant program, a generous five-year sabbatical cycle as well as a pre-tenure research leave program. The university subscribes to Bloomberg, Factset and several databases accessible through WRDS.
