Job Description & Qualification
The Summer Schools on Socioeconomic Opportunity and Inequality seek to provide the next generation of scholars with the multidisciplinary underpinning necessary for effective research on inequality dynamics. Our featured lecturers are leading scholars who examine inequality through the lenses of economics, sociology, and public policy, fostering cross-disciplinary approaches to researching and addressing long-term inequality.
The Summer Schools engage advanced students, research professionals, and early-career faculty through immersive lectures on state-of-the-art methods for inequality research, one-on-one and small-group meetings with experts, and student presentations where participants can receive input on their early-stage work from the community. They are designed to yield long-term benefits by creating enduring intellectual links that can be pursued long after the programs conclude.
Qualifications:
The summer school is open to advanced master's students, research professionals, Ph.D. students, postdoctoral scholars, and junior faculty from around the world.
Logistics:
There is no fee to attend. Lodging will be provided for the duration of the Summer Schools. Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily, on-site. Evening meals and dining outside of the program are self-pay. Travel and/or alternative lodging options are self-pay.

The James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Center for Research on Wealth Inequality and Mobility at the University of Chicago advances groundbreaking, interdisciplinary research on the origins and nature of contemporary inequalities.
