Under the supervision of Professor Gibson Brandon, we are seeking to recruit a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher specializing in environmental economics, based at the University of Geneva (UNIGE), to assist the three co-principals mentioned above in the quantitative research for the GFRI-led research project on impact performance measurement.

Main Responsibilities:
- Collect, produce, and quantitatively analyze impact measurement data related to climate change mitigation.
- Evaluate impact metrics against predefined performance criteria for climate change mitigation.
- Contribute to the creation of a database compiling collected climate change mitigation metrics, documenting their characteristics, sources, and evaluation.
- Propose new, coherent impact metrics for climate change mitigation that meet the specific criteria defined by the project’s management.
- Provide support at various stages of the project management cycle, as needed.
- Conduct independent research (up to 40%).

To be eligible for this position, you must:
- Hold a PhD in environmental science, environmental economics, finance, economics, statistics, or information science.
- Have obtained a PhD or equivalent qualification within the last 5 years.
- Possess strong knowledge of sustainable finance and environmental economics, as well as the relevant academic literature.
- Demonstrate proven quantitative skills in:
o Statistical analysis (proficiency in statistical software and advanced statistical methods);
o Econometrics (causal inference techniques and panel data analysis);
o Data processing (predictive modeling and big data processing);
o Data collection (survey methodology and advanced sampling techniques);
o Data visualization;
o Programming skills (Python or R).
- Exposure to, knowledge of, and/or quantitative skills in impact assessment frameworks (theory of change, logic models, and outcome/impact indicators) would be an asset.
- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to clearly communicate scientific and technical issues.
- Proficiency in collaborative work tools such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Docs, and Google Drive.
- Fluency in English; advanced French is desirable but not required.

Project Overview:
The Impact Performance Measurement Project is a research initiative of the Geneva Finance Research Institute (GFRI - University of Geneva), in collaboration with staff from the World Bank Group. The project is led by Professor Rajna Gibson Brandon, Dr. Camilo Mondragon-Velez, and Dr. Melita Leousi.
The project aims to identify, compile, and analyze impact metrics used in academic and professional literature within specific sectors (e.g., agri-food, healthcare, manufacturing) and thematic areas (e.g., climate change, reducing social inequalities, etc.). The ultimate goal of this long-term project is to establish a library of consistent impact performance metrics for each sector and theme.
